2007 World Scout Jamboree
In 2007, Scouting celebrates its 100th anniversary with a series of global, national and local events – including the 21st World Jamboree being hosted in the UK. The event will involve more world countries than even the Olympic Games.
The theme for the celebrations is "One World, One Promise." it will be held in Hylands Park Chelmsford, England from July 27 to August 8, 2007.
The Jamboree is a gathering of 30,000 Scouts from all over the world from over 60 countries. The United States will be sending approximately 1400 Scouts and Leaders. Each Jamboree is unique.
The Jamboree is a once in a lifetime experience. It is an opportunity to meet friends from around the world. It is a time to understand other countries better and it is a time to have fun in the best traditions of Scouting.
A website has been launched (scouting2007.org) that will run until the jamborees conclusion providing regularly updated news and information. The BSA's International Division will provide you details when they becomes available.
