  Friends of Scouting

Each year Old Baldy Council conducts its Friends of Scouting (FOS) campaign.  Through this campaign, we ask adult leaders, Scouting parents, and community members to financially support the council's ongoing operations and continued service to our youth and their leaders.

Here are just some of the areas that your FOS gift supports:

  • Maintenance and operation of facilities at Holcomb Valley Scout Ranch.
  • Insurance for youth members and adult leaders engaged in program activities.
  • A full-time, trained professional staff committed to the expansion and continued successful operation of the Scouting program for thousands of youth in our communities.
  • Community outreach programs
  • Your Council Service Center that provides administrative and program support to unit leaders
  • Supplemental support for youth activities that have minimal fees, such as Cub Scout Day Camp, Cub Scout recruitment, Boy Scout camporees and more.
  • Basic and advanced leader training programs and materials.
  • The Council Scout Store to provide uniforms, advancement and recognitions patches, and program materials for youth and leaders.
  • Free services on estate planning, taxes, trusts, wills, and planned giving for donors interested in supporting our long-term endowment program.

Many employers will match the charitable gifts of their employees.  Check with your personnel department for further information.  This is a great way to make your gift to Scouting count twice.
