Commissioner Supplemental Training

Commissioner training is an ongoing process designed to continue as long as an individual is registered. Once a Unit Commissioner has completed the The Unit Commissioner - Helping Units Succeed video and Commissioner Basic Training he/she has just begun.

  • The Arrowhead Honor is the next level of Commissioner training. Worn only by Commissioners and Roundtable Staff members, it is a symbol of competence. Successful completion is the result of performance and the ability to put training into practice.
  • The Commissioner's Key is an important training award for completing Commissioner Basic Training, the Arrowhead Honor projects, and three years registered Commissioner service within a five year period. Roundtable Commissioners must also complete Fast Start and basic training for Cub Scout or Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioners.
  • Continuing Education is on ongoing process which takes place at the District Commissioner staff meeting. At these meetings the District Commissioner presents a new training topic each month.
  • The annual council Commissioner's Conference is a major training event at the council level. In Old Baldy Council courses from the College of Commissioner Science and topical training issues are presented.
  • While Old Baldy Council does not conduct a College of Commissioner Science, we promote and encourage attendance at colleges held by neighboring councils.

For information about Commissioner training opportunities, contact your District Commissioner.
